| Well
being as it’s 12:41am and my post show party plans fell threw, I’m
sitting here bored off my ass and still kinda sloshed, so I’ll do
something contructive with my time. The show was at Hells Kitchen, a favorite
spot to see shows at, usually good crowd, good atmosphere and that’s
enough of that. Everybody should go there—that’s what I’m
trying to say. The line up was good. I skipped the first band, the Assassinators,
but from what I heard they weren’t impressive, just going on what
people told me. I dont know.
I arrive about half way threw the Sadie Hawkins Rejects. I dunno what to think of them. Ii wasnt really impressed. I get sick and tired of hearing Misfits covers and then listen to kids saying "Oh fuck man, did you hear them play? They fuckin’ rule, man! Oh God, I wish I could suck their dick." Eat shit and die clowns. Yes, the Misfits were fuckin’ awesome, but do we really need to here the same Misfits song every fuckin’ show? Ok, I’m bitching, and that was harsh on my part. The Sadie Hawkins Rejects was just not my "thing." Now for a breath of fresh air, albeit a smoked filled one, its still fresh. The Guilty are reallly good. Out of most of the bands I have seen that are FROM the Tacoma/Puyallup area (I include Gig Harbor in this) I only like, I would say, about three: The Meatbeaters (I think they are still around not sure), Durango 95 (great fuckin band--any frontman that free balls it and doesn’t now is a fuckin genius--they have my utter respect, and I dont give my respect out easily), ok thats two, I would say Nameless Danger, but I have never heard them play before really, so I can’t judge--so I’ll stick a plug in for my own band Baby Destructo!!! Back to The Guilty though, a very solid set good stage performance and killer songs as usual. I would have gone to this show even if UK SUBS hadn’t been playing, just to check out The Guilty. Every time I have seen them they put up a good show. With lines like "Screw em all, shave your head" (even though I doubt it’s about skinheads) I still dig this song. And now for a shock to my ear drums, but a GREATLY appreciated shock: The Bristles were fuckin’ awesome! I will travel to Seattle, Yakima, Oly, where-ever to check out this band. I recommend others don’t pass up a chance to see this band play! God, they fuckin’ kicked some serious tail. This is also another band I give respect to--any person that lived here and writes songs about hill-top and shooting a-hole cops is A-ok in my book. All in all, this band was VERY good--check them out at http://www.dreadfulchildren.com/bristle/bristle.htm You won’t be disappointed. Sluts and Germs, boys and girls what you were all waiting for....UK SUBS. Well what can I say? It’s fuckin’ UK Subs; they fuckin’ rule, nuff said?! They started a little late but I’m not going to bitch about that. They put on TOO good of a show. I’m glad I didn’t miss this show, the last United States, UK Subs show with the original line up is not something to miss. I ran into several people suffering from bronchitis as well as 2 people with broken ribs, all of which made their way through pain & disease to see this show. So if you catch bronchitis blame it on this guy named Michael. He had an OP-Ivy energy t-shirt on. But he was a good guy, so don’t fuck with him. The UK Subs ran threw the usual set list including Warhead, and my favorite "I Live In A Car". Great fuckin’ show in general. I don’t think anyone walked away unhappy. They came back with an encore featuring "New York State Police" and the place went berzerk! A great show--one of the better ones I have seen lately. If you missed
this, you’re a fuckin’ lamer, so go fuck your sister. |
