Have you been wondering what the Toilet Boys have been up to? Well, don’t file them under “Where Are They Now?” yet. They’re still alive and kicking, with their loud and foul-mouthed, flamboyant singer Miss Guy and the very talented guitarist Sean Pierce leading the rambunctious pack. You may not see them on the road anytime soon, but they do have a spanking new release out called Sex Music. What better Valentine’s Day present than an album dedicated to “Sex, Sex, Sex”, especially when a goddess like Debbie Harry makes a special appearance. Let’s hear it from the mouth of Miss Guy, all about Sex Music, the status and the future of Toilet Boys, and the true, shocking reason why Toilet Boys broke up.
STELLA KIM: So what’s the state of Toilet Boys now? Are you guys together, broken up, or what? MISS GUY:
We recently released Sex Music, but we have no plans to tour
or play any shows as of now. We’re definitely into doing something
if the right offer comes along. I’d say we’re broken up but
still in love and considering dating again. Haha! |

SK: Is it true that Toilet Boys broke up because of the fire that happened at the Great White show in Rhode Island? MG: No, we broke up because Sean told me he was gay, and I’m extremely homophobic. SK: Tell me about this new release, Sex Music. It’s the first new release since, I can’t even remember when. It’s been a while. What took so long? And why isn’t there more new music? MG: It’s the first release with new, unreleased music since our debut, but we released Live In London and The Early Years in 2003 or 2004. We’ve been doing other stuff in the last five years. Sean is playing with his lovely wife Theo, Eddie has been playing with PTV3, and I’ve been writing and recording songs for a future solo release.

| SK: Is the album really about “Sex, Sex, Sex”? MG: If Debbie said it, then it must be true! Who can’t relate to sex? SK: Would love to hear about working with Debbie Harry on the new song, “Drug of Choice” as well as singing with Debbie Harry on stage on her tour dates since she’s such an icon. How did you feel about the whole experience? MG: She’s a doll! We have fun working together, which is what it’s all about, really. She’s an incredible lyricist and comes up with such beautiful melodies. I love being onstage with her, but it can be difficult because she’s a lousy singer and it messes me up! Haha! SK: Toilet Boys was signed to Roadrunner once upon a time. In this day and age, with MySpace and all the other handy online tools, do you ever feel the need for a big label? How do Toilet Boys survive the cyber age? MG: Labels
suck for the most part, but they can front money, which is helpful. We
actually did best when we weren’t on a big label. I guess Toilet
Boys are so fucking great that we can make it on our own! Seriously, I
think if there was a cool label with some balls, we could be great for
each other. Well, actually, Dead City Records, the label that put this
CD out, is really cool. They’re not filthy rich, so it’s less
exposure for us, but they’re doing really good getting this CD out
there. MG: We really
are great, aren’t we? Haha! I think New York is still the greatest
city in the world, although it’s way different than when we started
out. But I like to live in the moment, and this is New York now. I don’t
give a fuck about a scene because there is no scene and there hasn’t
been one in a long time. But I still love music and that’s what
keeps me going. |

SK: Do you have any plans to do any kind of touring to promote this album? Are you going to record together after this? In general: where’s Toilet Boys going from here? MG: That’s an interesting question. I’d
like to think we’ll record again especially since I had such a good
experience doing this record with Sean. He’s so talented and I love
working with him, and definitely think we have more to say together. I
guess we can do whatever we want whenever we want with no pressure. If
we’re having fun and getting along, and people still want it, then
we will most likely continue. If we’re not having fun and hating
each other, then we should stop. Well, unless we’re making tons
of money! In that case we’ll just do what every other band does
and fake it. "Oh yeah, we’re great friends! We love each other!
We’re family!" Haha! Yeah right! |

| SK:
Final words. Whatever you’d like to say!
MG: I’d like to say "fuck". Fuck! Fuck!
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Everybody say "fuck!" And then FUCK! But first
buy Sex Music because it makes fucking so much better. Well,
that’s what Britney, Paris and Lindsay told me! And check out our
MySpace page at this
location. Fuck! |
