| The Collapse is a six-deep poppy hardcore band whose self-titled seven-track debut can easily be filed right alongside Thursday, Brand New, and Fairweather. They have a lush rock sound that falls in and out of heaviness, and the vocals are crisp and slightly emo. In fact, these guys are kind of like hardcore's answer to The Eagles, as the band successfully melds different genres without abandoning its roots. The Collapse employs three guitarists, strong song arrangements, and a ton of shoe gazer indie rock and pop sensibilities beneath its hardcore exterior, and for that, this band stands out. | ||
