DISCIPLINE |
|
Though this punk band may hail from Holland, Discipline definitely doesn’t tip toe through any tulips. They are not sporting terry cloth wristbands and skate sneakers, the new fad for American mainstream darlings, nor are they feigning to be bad-ass punk rockers, Discipline is the real deal. |

The
Everywhere We Go ep is a powerful, yet fun mix of originals and covers,
including The Misfits’ “Astro Zombies” and Rose Tattoo’s
“One of the Boys”. In pure Discipline style, the title
track “Everywhere We Go” has the power to transplant anyone
from the doldrums of everyday life to standing in a crowd full of sweaty
and screaming fans. Yes, they make it acceptable to get up and move.
There are no sad, whiny lyrics about girls ripping out the hearts
of vulnerable males, just words that leave you feeling like you had a
good ol’ time. The almost-raspy vocals and up beat guitar
rhythms offer tunes with a heaping helping of old school street rock,
oi!, and hardcore. My only criticism is that it is only four songs.
When the last track ends and the next CD on deck starts to play,
I feel like I have been ripped off. With a sound comparable to States’
favorites Avail and The Dropkick Murphys, Discipline is sure to strike
a chord in the hearts of American punk fans. |
