Fighting Jacks are a quartet that hails from San Jose, California that isn't a nu metal clone, or another lackluster power pop outfit. Instead, the outfit's influence points further north to the confines of Seattle, where the band's Pearl Jam-esque compositions and Sunny Day Real Estate-like melodies take flight in songs like "Commons and Robbers" and "Unfinished Song".

Complete with a stream of pensive lyrics, Fighting Jacks take its version of indie rock very seriously, and manage to rock out in the process, making songs like "Year of the Dead"and "New Born Thing" hit with an impact most of its peers cannot match. If you dig bands that are on the cusp with melodic hooks like Incubus and Far, Fighting Jacks is a perfect CD for you.
