Free Verse, (a poetic form that defines a composition without rules), is run by Lisa, M, and Jenni. This girlie punk band has the lyrical concept of Fiona Apple, the vocals of an angry Tori Amos and the attitude of Kittie. Although this is the ideal soundtrack of the Lower East Side in New York City, Free Verse brings a new light to Seattle's dimmed world once ruled by grunge.
With the thrashy, helpless wailing that makes punk music notorious for it's wild tone, this trio makes you want to sing along with them. These girls can play their own instruments and sing at the same time--specially M, who can play drums better than any of the guys out there in upcoming bands. Best of all, Free Verse will always surprise you with their emotionally driven lyrics and ever-changing beats, which collaborate with their message. The same way the Sex Pistols rejected their government, Free Verse performs for benefit gigs, including Books for Prisoners and Home Alive. Free Verse is strongly opposed to antiracism and rape, which they exemplify in their music. If you're an avid punk lover or a pure feminista, you'll be crazy not to fall under the spell Free Verse has cast in their political-inspired tracks.
