The stalwart metal troupe Iron Maiden return with Dance Of Death, an 11-track offering that not only picks up where Brave New World left off, but shifts the veteran outfit back into the forefront of metal's landscape. From the opening charge of "Wildest Dream", the influential Brits sound as clever and as crisp as ever.
Adding in some of the grandiosity that made Maiden a worldwide success never hurts, and songs like "No More Lies" aptly prove that a lengthy song from these boys sounds just as good now as it did during the legendary Powerslave days. Even though Iron Maiden has scaled back its live performance schedule and appearances, Dance Of Death showcases a band that still knows how to make magic in the studio while keeping the ardent fan appeased in the process. While the style has been bastardized and plagiarized a million times over, leave it to Iron Maiden to reclaim the glory and honor of metal by making another classic album.
