| Jake The Dog is the name of both a punk rock trio from NYC and an actual canine critter, and while not much is known about the pooch, the band's four-track CD proves more revealing. Jake The Dog rides the current Blink 182 wave but adds old school punk substance, creating compelling and catchy melodies that are heavy on the backbeat and lyrical description, like the uncontrived breakup song "Jenny". | ||
| Songs like the bouncy "Burned" fall somewhere between The Ramones in its Gabba-Gabba heyday and the punk leanings of Elvis Costello, as the band's bark and bite are equally welcomed in the wake of what gets passed as punk these days. | ||
