After spending hours pummeling your ears with the best in punk, hardcore and metal as suggested by this fine site, perhaps take a little bit of a breather with Kill Hannah.
It isn’t that the band is light -- the dual guitars provide a little bit of a punch over a throbbing low end -- but this music is decidedly different than the usual Crusher Magazine fare.

Lead singer and songwriter Mat Devine’s soft, effeminate voice is well rounded and demure. He comes across quite a bit like a male Shirley Manson (the stunning lead singer of Garbage). His band plays a new wave-influenced rock much like latter day Duran Duran or Cure. Much like the latter, Kill Hannah is sure to endear themselves to the female audiences but there are elements that are appealing to all. The mixing and layering of the synth work along side the vocals guitars is impressive and enjoyable. Smooth rhythms and laidback hooks capture the listener. Garret Hammond’s drum work sets a quick pace driving the music and works hand-in-hand with a lot of the synth. Thankfully, the percussion is set far enough back in the mix to allow the bass lines to stand out. The two guitars compliment each other well but never attack as they often do in metal.

For Never & Ever is a solid release from an up-and-coming band. It is pleasant to relax to and it brings enough rock that it’s just as good to have sex to. Don’t be afraid to take a time out from the usual moshing music to give Kill Hannah a chance.
