Belgium browbeaters Negate take the Gothenburg metal sound and encompass it into the outfit's latest 11-track release, Enemy. Full-on double bass drumming leads the heavy-handed metal charge, as this quartet's guitar and bass assault meshes snippets of Slayer, The Crown, and Cradle of Filth to create a chillingly stoic surge of aggression. While Negate sometimes oversteps its boundaries by pouring it on a bit thick, there's no denying this band is a sonic steamroller waiting to take out anything in its path.
