Agnostic Front frontman Roger Miret has put together a group that calls up all the reasons that punk was what it was when it began.  This is a big slice of Oi!, an up tempo, guitar-slinging slab of attitude that’s sure to open the eyes of a few of the younger kids who think that New Found Glory and Good Charlotte are punk.
This guy is one of the originators, not an imitator, and it’ll be quite entertaining to see him school the youngsters on the string of dates that The Disasters are opening for the aforementioned New Found Glory and Good Charlotte in April.
Tunes such as “ Screw You”, “Kiss Kiss Kill Kill”, “Give ‘Em The Boot”, and “NY Belongs To Me” (which is a cover of the Cock Sparrer tune “England Belongs To Me” and is on the cd A World Wide Tribute to the Real Oi!, Vol. 2), are defiant and definitive.   The guitar work is abrasive and bluesy on a hyper jag.  The bass work bubbles up and around the guitars with its own melodies and rhythms.  The drums punctuate it all, keeping the tempo hot and heavy.
Roger, along with Johnny Rioux, Rhys Kill, and Johnny Kray are a tight unit, hell-bent on keeping it true to the scene that started it all.  Betcha can’t sit still while you listen.
