Most of the bands you’ll hear on this CD will never play at Madison Square Garden, but if you ever wondered what happened to New York City rock n’ roll -- I mean the kind of real rock n’ roll that still has that element of danger and rebellion; not that cutesy, corporate, MTV crap -- then this CD addresses your question.
And the answer is that rock n’ roll is alive and well in the Big Apple’s most rotten places. The 22 songs, all together 71 minutes of rock mayhem, hit you from so many different angles, they leave your eardrums feeling totally assaulted. Punks. Thrashers. Metalheads. They’re all represented well on New York City Rock N’ Roll.

Stand out songs include the first one, “2 A.M.” from the punk band Sex Slaves, a well-produced, straight-up rock song that’s got strong vocals, wicked guitar licks and a lot of hard crunch thrown in between. Joker Five Speed’s “Destination: Meltdown” is also a winner, with it’s metal, power-chords and stoner vocals. “Should’ve Said Goodbye” by Pretty Suicide is another song not to be missed. The guitar-work is phenomenal. But truthfully, the entire CD is kick-ass, so kick-ass that it’s inspired a tour that’ll be coming to your town soon enough. So, get out and buy the thing. It’ll be worth it. Trust me.
